Rivalry Owned: Lady Rebels Take Care of Business in Reno
The UNLV Lady Rebels handled business once again, taking down in-state rival Nevada with a solid 64-50 win. From the jump, UNLV dictated the tempo, locking in on defense and keeping the offense flowing. With this win, the Rebels improve to 9-2 against Nevada under head coach Lindy La Rocque.
UNLV came out strong, using defensive pressure to force turnovers and create easy buckets. Kiara Jackson was in her bag, dropping 12 points and dishing out 3 assists her third dime of the night officially moving her to third all-time in career assists at UNLV with 436, passing assistant coach Mia Bell. A legendary moment.
The real game-changer came in the second quarter when the Lady Rebels held Nevada to just six points, completely taking control. The defensive effort was elite, and the balanced scoring made sure Nevada never found a rhythm. By the end of the third, UNLV had the game in hand and kept things locked up for another key conference win.

HER Game,HER Spotlight: Aaliyah Alexander
Aaliyah Alexander was locked in, leading all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, knocking down two threes along the way. She was automatic, finding her spots and keeping the pressure on Nevada’s defense all night.
Beyond the numbers, Alexander’s presence on the floor made a huge impact. Her ability to space the floor and attack the defense kept UNLV’s offense moving smoothly, and she made sure Nevada never had a chance to make a real run.
